WELCOME!

Welcome!  Lewisville Area Homeschool Speech and Debate Club (LAHSD) is a Christian speech and debate club for homeschooled students.  The mission of our club is to raise up Christian leaders who can articulate their values to an unbelieving world, by facilitating the training necessary for  NCFCA competition.  NCFCA tournaments provide checkpoints throughout the season for students to prepare, practice and polish speeches and debate cases.  You may watch this promo video to get a feel for speech and debate if you’re new to the activity.

Registration & Orientation is Thursday, August 18th at 7pm. This is a mandatory club event for all families who are new to LAHSD.  Returning families are welcome to come, but may register the first night of club (Sep.1).  If you have any questions, feel free to contact any of our club leaders below.

2011-2012 WEEKLY THURSDAY SCHEDULE

Novice Track:
3:30-5:45  Speech - Platform, Interpretation & Intro to Public Speaking
5:45-6:15  Club Dinner (byo) & clean-up
6:15-7:15  Logic
7:15-8:30  Debate - Team Policy

Advanced Track:
3:30-5:45  Speech - Extemporaneous, Apologetics & Impromptu
5:45-6:15  Club Dinner (byo) & clean-up
6:15-8:30  Debate - Advanced Team Policy or Lincoln Douglas

Despite track schedules, all advanced students will receive training for any and all events in which they compete.

No childcare provided.
